    Social-Media Internship

Do you know someone looking for a summer internship with a great organization?

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). At the age of 4, Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of volunteers across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $25 million towards fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 80 research projects nationally.

ALSF is seeking individuals with a strong interest and understanding of social-media as well as a passion for nonprofit organizations. The foundation is looking for interns from various locations throughout the US to help take it to the “next level” in awareness and fundraising through social media. Each intern will work part-time for approximately 15-20 hours per week dedicated to their position.

Throughout this internship, each intern will be responsible for creating three different social media campaigns/promotions with goals, strategies, tactics and a predicted timeline before the end of the summer. The foundation is looking for creative interns who don’t just think “outside of the box,” they understand that there isn’t a box!

This position has the ability to impact the way Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is viewed through social-media and will ultimately impact the world of childhood cancer. This internship will officially start on Monday, May 17, 2010 and end on Friday, August 27, 2010. Upon successful completion, each intern will receive a stipend of $500.

    • A strong understanding of social-media websites
    • Strong communication and networking skills
    • An entrepreneurial and risk-taking spirit
    • The ability to juggle multiple tasks under deadlines
